Touristic places within the city of Leon, Spain

Colegiata de San Isidoro is one of the most important historical places in Europe. It holds over a thousand years of history. It was built in the 10th Century as a female monastery and hosted women from the Royal family. Nowadays it is a tourist and cultural place in city of León.

During its over a thousand years of life the Colegiata of San Isidoro has had very remarkable moments like moving St Isidoro's remains from Seville to Leon back in 1063 or building the Royal Pantheon  by Fernando I and Mrs Sancha during the XVI century.

Also, between the XV and XVIII centuries and extension of the of the cloister and other monastery areas, this work  included building an important library as well.

Tickets

Standard entry is EUR 5 which is a self guided visit. Audios and explanatory materials are available for download using the QR codes around the place.

There's also guided tours at EUR 7 with a maximum capacity of  25 people per visit.

Under 12 year old do not have to pay.
